The Auditorium Theatre in Chivasso is conceived as a place of contemporary expressiveness for speeches and music. It is intended as a container for sound and literary art, where actors and audience are related in a physical space that is the place for acting, and it is transformed into place of imagination and mythopoeia. Conceived like an austere but not minimalistic volume, as a contemporary but also timeless architecture, elegant but not ostentatious, capable of valorising the main artistic expression. In the theatre design process we tried to define a precise grammatical speech, quiet in respect of the urban context, but capable of developing a syntax that transcends the language to become poetry of an harmonic space, where the materials, the light and the shadow are the leading actors of the urban scene.
