Serlachius Gosta Museum is a cultural institution that could favour the natural environment around, represented by the lake and the small island facing the manor. Needed extension for the museum intended to strengthen the cultural identity and the history of these places. For this reason the themes that inspired the project are related with literary tradition of Kalevala by Elias Lönnrot, evoking the scandinavian mythology. Critical interpretation of the context has defined four key points: the parterre, namely the axis that defines the orientation of the building, the pier intended as an extension opposite the island, then a square that emphasizes the metaphysical relationship with the nature. Finally the egg: the inspiration comes from the reference to the myth narrated in the Finnish Kalevala. A transposition from literature to architecture in order to shape the heart of the museum, as the the large exhibition hall.
