ROMANIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH
The integral rehabilitation of Cascina Città, located on the northern outskirts of Turin, responds to the need to find adequate space for the needs of the Romanian Orthodox community of Sfănta Parascheva, in order to relocate its headquarters there. In the courtyard complex there is space both for liturgical functions, thanks to the arrangement and closure of the large upper loggia, and for ancillary rooms that include classrooms for catechesis, a theater room, an exhibition space, a small library and other services for the community. The center of the courtyard is kept free and represents an important space for gathering and sharing collective celebrations that are held outdoors, around the core of the ‘paraclis,’ the small sacred building that becomes the main identifying sign of the entire religious complex.
